		<description>Saturday 19 May 2012, 21:30h, Largo do Toural, Guimarães

&#60;img src="http://payload54.cargocollective.com/1/0/19481/3399161/JMARTINHO_precomp_01.png" width="640" height="360" width_o="640" height_o="360" src_o="http://payload54.cargocollective.com/1/0/19481/3399161/JMARTINHO_precomp_01_o.png" data-mid="17483983"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

English:

On the night of May 19, 1000 participants will be on the Largo do Toural, representing folklore groups from all over the Portuguese country. It will be the first of many nights planned by the POP ART project and is scheduled to start at 21:30.
The popular Portuguese costume parade takes us to the period between 1890 and 1910, organized by groups (Mountain, River, Field, Sea, Evening, Fair, Sunday, Grooms and Pilgrimage), with about 1000 participants from all regions of mainland Portugal and the islands. This parade will follow a narrative, and in almost every frame, will address the value of the Guimarães costume, looking at the same time to highlight those which are the two great symbols of Guimarães ethnography: the “cantarinha” and "lenços de namorados".

In partnership with the Portuguese Folklore Federation, Tempos Cruzados - Programa Associativo - fosters a great event which will challenge the dialogue between Ethnography, Folklore and Digital Art. The event will be attended by about 1,000 participants, representatives of folklore groups from around the country, who will star in a live parade of costumes. The show will be complemented with a toccata of 50 Guimarães musicians and digital sets in the facades of Toural, a work by João Martinho Moura.

This is the first of many nights scheduled by Pop Art or "Arte Popular" that normally is associated with the concept of art produced in the U.S. in the 50s and 60s of the twentieth century. The associative movement on the traditional dances and songs is rooted in the Guimarães territory and maintains a permanent activity with great community participation. In this sense, the event is to enhance, through Guimarães 2012 European Capital of Culture, the work done by groups of ethnography and folklore of Guimarães.

English:
Câmara Neuronal is a neuro / audio / visual performance unfolding around the character of the Adolfo Luxúria Canibal. In this project the movement / physical interpretation, as well as mental and sensory interpretation of the performer, are translated in real time into sound and visual compositions within an immersive projection environment. One of the most innovative aspects explored in this project is the close link between the narrative and emotional aspects of the performer, achieved through a neural-physiological signal recording device (EEG - electroencephalogram) in synchronization with the visual and sound aesthetics. The EEG helmet, adorned with cables that connect to the ceiling evoke a "brain connection" to the system. The helmet signals are transmitted via wireless to a software trained specifically to the mental states of the artist Adolfo Lúxuria Canibal. The Digital Art is produced by João Martinho Moura, and the music by Miguel Pedro Guimarães. The event represents a collaboration between Art and Technology.

The artifact aims at exploring a spatial sphere, where the user/performer is invited to develop his own creative inspiration based on his own body gestures and movements. YMYI was born in the Master in Technology and Digital Arts, University of Minho, in 2007, as the result in research and development in Digital Arts.
